Pablo Dancuart brings over 15 years of leadership experience in the property and casualty insurance sector. A CPA, CA with strong technical expertise, he has a proven track record of leading finance organizations through transformation, scaling operations, and driving profitable growth. Pablo positions the finance function as a strategic partner, focused on long-term value creation, operational efficiency, and disciplined capital management.

Pablo’s has vast Insurance experience before joining Western, where he served as Vice President, Finance & Procurement at Gore Mutual Insurance Company for the past 5 years where he played a key leadership role in the company’s “Next Horizon” transformation strategy. During his tenure the business achieved top-line growth of over 50%, the successful implementation of IFRS 17, modernization of operating models, modernizing the finance function and enhanced procurement strategies.

Prior to that, he was VP Finance at MiWay Insurance (South Africa) for 10 years, where he helped grow the business from start-up, through break-even and into to sustained profitability, and 2 years at Zurich Canada in the Reinsurance area, focusing on optimizing the reinsurance portfolio, improved reporting and IFRS 17.

Pablo began his career at PwC in South Africa, advancing to Audit Manager and leading engagements across multiple industries. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) from the University of Pretoria, and is a qualified CPA, CA since 2008.
