Vic Bertrand brings over 30 years of operating experience building, scaling and transforming businesses across family, private equity and public ownership.

From 1986 to 2014, Vic co-led MEGA Brands, transforming his family’s small local business into a vertically integrated, global toy leader with sales in more than 100 countries. Over that period, he helped guide the company through a series of defining transactions, including a majority sale to Blackstone in 1996, an initial public offering in 2002, and an eventual sale to Mattel in 2014. He later served on the board of Toys “R” Us Canada beginning in 2018, before becoming its President & CEO from 2019 to 2021. Since 2014, Vic has been President of his private investment company, Stratinn Inc., investing across a range of sectors.

Vic also serves on the boards of Cardiomech (a Norwegian cardiovascular company), Spinal Stabilization Technologies (an Ireland-based minimally invasive spine technology company) and NorthStar Gaming (a Toronto-based gaming company), among other board roles.
